Times They are a Changin

Power surge, I just lost all that I was typing. Freakin...
Ok, here's what I was saying.

My Grandmother is all settled into her house as of two days ago. She has a live in aid they call a companion to take care of her 24 hrs a day. The woman they got is very nice, her name is Vaneeta (sp?), she is from Ghana and has five children still living back in Africa. What a relief to have all of this settled now. It is strange to have someone living in my Grandmother's house again, especially cause it is not just my Grandmother. Times change no matter how much I struggle against it.

Debs and I were planning our study abroad to London the other day. It seems the more we plan it the less "study" it becomes and the more vacation it seems. My sister is coming to visit during her Spring break and we are going to Ireland to visit my Aunt. Then during Deb's and my Spring break maybe off to Italy to perhaps visit Ann (knudge knudge, wink wink). Deb's brother is going to visit too and hopefully my parents. It is just going to be one big ol'e party.

Kristin got into Purchase College Monday. She was crying she was so happy, everyone was estatic, my Aunt called my Uncle to tell him the news and she couldn't stop screaming. I knew she would get into school, I don't know what everyone was getting so upset about... so it seems that time just can't sit still as my younger sister goes off to college to find happiness, her future and maybe herself along the way.

It's The Little Things That Get You

Broke down in tears with my mom on the phone this morning cause my sister took the car without telling me again. I cry over little things easily but I was also very frustrated. My Grandmother calls me at 9:30 in the morning waking me up, asking me where I am cause it is getting late and I need to drop off some pastries for her to give to the nurses at the rehab place she is in. This after having to fight the hordes at Costco yesterday for the flippin package of muffins and box of cookies she requested and waiting on two long ass lines, one to obtain a pass for the card I got forgot and the other to actually purchase this over priced mockery of human food. And where is Kristin today? THE BEACH.

I am tired as all hell too. Yesterday I was on my hands and knees scrubbing floors at my Grandmother's house to get ready for her arrival Thursday and then I had to stay up till about 2 finishing a painting for my cousin Tara before my Uncle leaves back for Georgia. Work doesn't bother me, it's the lack of sleep that does.

Went to see The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the 18th with Debs. We got tickets from my neighbor who works for Comedy Central. Can I tell you what a wonderful experience that was? Everyone who worked there couldn't have been nicer or more laid back. They were so NY too, noisy and cursing with thick accents, it was great. And Jon was just adorable. I've seen him before with Sea when he came to MD, and seeing him again reminded me how short that man actually is, but still cute as a button...awwwwww. We had no guest that day but is was fine, more Jon. The show was unbelievably short, there were no retakes or anything, it felt like we were in there for 20 mins. The studio is really small too (everything is just little about the show) and the music they played before hand was so loud it gave me a headache... wonder if Jon picked it out himself? Slight chaos ensued before hand and after as Debs and I were perpetually late for the show and then the train home, missing the train but thankfully finding a cab ten blocks from the show and making it there in time. But it was all good in the train station, I bought a frozen yogurt cone.

Krispy Kreme

Back from TX. Fun fun, massive shopping all week, mostly antiquing.
Yes, I use antique as a verb, don't kill me.

Seeing my grandparents was fun, haven't been there in a long time, it was
good that I went. The flights to and fro worked out well too. Pittsburg
airport is insane, they have a mall, brilliant. Charlotte was nice too, but
we got stuck there on a two hr lay over then delay. Krispy Kremes and a
cherry slushy made up for it though.

My grandmother gets out of the re-habilitation center the 26th so my Uncle
came up from GA to help with the move. See, it is a good thing I have no
job, things like this man is why I must be free to help out family in need
(and hey, if you believe that I got a bridge to sell you).

Tonight is Kimmie's 20th birthday party, Happy Birthday girl. Should be a
grand time, and perhaps a round of trivial pursuit will ensue. It's the
little things people.

Coldplay Matt

I am leaving for Texas today. Yeah, I know, a little last minute but it is kinda exciting. I like traveling at the spur of the moment, makes it more interesting. I will be back home the 17th, only six days, for my sister and I have birthday parties to attend.

The brilliant Betty has also shown me a proper ftp program for windows and exactly how to use blogger so I will be updating more once I get back, check it out.

This summer has been mildly exciting thus far. The best event was seeing Coldplay at Radio City Music hall. They were brilliant, of course, and Chris Martin is so sexy. Oddly enough, my friends and I saw a kid we had graduated with working the obligitory charity booth and chatted with him for a bit even though I must have spoken no more then two words to him in four years (he was also on our train home so I was forced to make nice with him for the hour ride back too). Then when we sat in our seats a boy sitting behind me was from my geology class freshman year, very odd. Hi Matt.

Other then that, little else has been going on. I took a lower level government class during all of June which was incredibly easy. Nassau Community rocks dude. And now I am a jobless feck. But I don't really care, I enjoy sleeping all day and staying up all night, does a body
good.

Movies everyone must see:
Moulin Rouge- Ewan singing love songs, you can't get any better then that.
Shrek- Adorable, and funny as hell. Could not stop laughing, definitly not just a kids movie. The
Gingerbread man was great.
AI (Artificial Intelligence)- Brilliant Spielberg/Kubrick creation. Not enough Jude but Haley Joel Osment was fanastic, I think he will get another Oscar nod for it.
